Trakya Cam is the first company to deploy the "float technology"
among the East European, Balkan and Middle Eastern countries
with its first float line that became operational in 1981.
Trakya Cam has pioneered the development of the flat glass
industry in Turkey and in the region with its investments
of float glass, automotive glass, and processed glasses
and through its wide range of product portfolio.
Trakya Cam ranks among the top eight flat glass companies
in the world and top five companies in Europe with an increasing
capacity.
The company has reached the level of $ 689 million net sales
with its wide product range in architectural, automotive
and processed glasses, with its 2.961 employees.
In accordance with its vision of "leadership in the region"
and its strategy of "multi-focus production", Trakya Cam
inaugurated the first float line of the Balkan Region in
March 2006 under the identity of Trakya Glass Bulgaria EAD,
which is the subsidiary of Trakya Cam, in addition to its
existing four float lines in Turkey.
Moreover, Trakya Cam, via its subsidiary of Trakya Yenişehir
Cam Sanayii A.Ş., continues its fast growth in Turkey through
its investments of the 5th float line that started
production on 1 June 2007, a coating line that started production
at the beginning of June 2007 and the 6th float
line that became operational in November 2007. Additionally,
for the new flat glass plant investment which will be established
in the Ankara Polatlı Industrial Zone, a new company has
been founded under the name of Trakya Polatlı Cam Sanayii
A. Ş. with a participation ratio of 85%.
There are also ongoing activities for the construction of
a float line in the Krasnodar Region of Russia targeting
the Russian market.
Through its production and market structure, customer oriented
approach, its focus on R&D, its ability to create capacities,
its export potential, qualified human resource and realized
and continuing investment projects, Trakya Cam has the ambition
to reinforce its strength, while growing further.
