- Insulating glass units should not be stacked on the concrete floor or ground directly and should not be stored in wet and humid places as well.
- Isıcam® units should be stored on pallets at an angle of ~10o from the vertical and should be set vertical to pallets onto longer sides.
- Each Isıcam® unit should be interleaved with special wedges (such as cork pads) to avoid contact with each other.
- The pallet should provide sufficient support to the backside of the insulating glass unit. Exposure to point loads should be avoided and also one of the glass components of Isıcam® should not come into contact with the base of the pallet. Otherwise, swelling due to pressure differences and glass breakage due to excessive loads may occur.
- When stacking different sizes of Isıcam® units on the pallet, the small sized units should be placed in front of the large sized units. To avoid the pressure occurring in the middle of the unit, lathes should be placed longitudinally in between the two insulating glass units and the distance between the lathes should not be greater than 50 cm.
- Isıcam® units should not be stored under direct sunshine and other sources of heat. Heat causes the swelling of the insulating glass units and by compressing one another, breakages may occur. Furthermore, as stack of tinted and reflective glasses stored under sunshine cannot be ventilated sufficiently, thermal breakages may occur.
- Deformation will occur as a result of pressure differences between the production and installation site of Isıcam® units. To avoid deformation, the shorter edge of Isıcam® unit is drilled and a balloon or a breather tube is mounted at the production site. Later on at the installation site, the balloon or breather tube is removed and the hole is sealed immediately.
