CE stands for Communite
Européen. The CE Mark displays that a product
complies with a European technical standard called
a harmonized European Norm (hEN). |

| CE Marking is
NOT; |
| |
- a mark of quality in the traditional sense.

- a mark of geographical origin.
|
- related to aspects outside the essential
requirements.
(mechanical resistance and
stability, safety in case of fire, hygiene,
health and the environment, safety in use,
protection against noise, energy economy and
heat retention) |
- a license to use the product in all known
applications in EU member states. National
regulations must first be met.

Technical Committee (TC) 129 of
European Committee for Standardization (CEN) has
been assigned to produce hENs in the field of
"Glass in Building". These standards are mandatory
and glass products being placed on the market
within the EU must comply with them. The glass
products shall be marked with CE Mark. |

| Turkish Standards
Institute has prepared supporting standards of
various types and hENs by translating them into
native language with fastidious work. |
| |
